Christmas Treat: How to Make a Rice Krispies House

Christmas-themed decorative rice crispy house with colorful figurines.

This was my little cooking project for the holidays, I hope you like it!

For this recipe you will need:

  • Rice Krispies
  • Marshmallows
  • Butter

In large saucepan melt 3 tablespoons of butter at low heat. I didn't have butter so I used hazelnut butter to add a different taste. Add 40 regular marshmallows and stir until they are completely melted. Remove from the heat and add between 5 and 6 cups of rice krispies (depending on the size of your cup) and stir until they are all well coated.

Pour the mixture onto a glass pan previously coated with some cooking spray. Let it cool for about two hours or 30 minutes in the fridge.

Cut the edges and start cutting the pieces of the house. Cut a house shape and put it over the rest to cut two pieces of the same size. To cut the side walls put the front part next to it so you can measure the same height, and cut a rectangle. For the roof cut slightly bigger rectangles.

Then carefully build the house, as it is really sticky the pieces will easily stick to each other.

For decoration, I melted some chocolate in the microwave and poured it into a plastic bag, then I use this to draw the tiles of the roof. Use your imagination and use any sweet that you want to complete the house.

If some of the candy don't stick to the house melt a marshmallow in the microwave at low heat and use it as glue.

And that's it! I hope you enjoyed!!
