How to Decorate dark chocolate ganache cupcakes with Christmas shapes

We didn't think it could get any better than cupcakes laden with buttercream icing until we saw these dark chocolate ganache-dipped cupcakes. Dripping in rich, velvety layers of ganache, these cupcakes are then topped with iced on Christmas shapes like trees and snowflakes for a festive flair.

Maki Evans of Cupcakes Gourmet shows us an easy way to make chocolate ganache with both dark and white chocolate. After baking the cupcakes she tops them with a dollop of buttercream, or you can use your favorite icing. She then dips the cakes in the ganache to create a rich, luscious coating. Using candy decorations, she gives her baked goods a special holiday touch.
